Location

If you’ve ever taken a riverboat tour down the Chicago River, chances are you’ve passed the Merchandise Mart. The Merchandise Mart is one of Chicago’s most historic Art Deco buildings situated conveniently at the river bank. 

Find Art on the Mart along the Riverwalk; you can view the art projections best along the Chicago Riverwalk Jetty between Wells and Franklin Street. If you’re feeling hungry, you can always stop in at one of the many restaurants nearby—Marshall’s Landing, River Roast, and Beatrix, to name a few.

Parking

Now for the big question: where to park? A few parking garages can be found near Art on the Mart. The Mart Parc Wells parking garage is a five-minute walk to Art on the Mart. If you’d like to spare a minute, the Mart Parc Orleans garage is a simple four-minute walk. 

Where Can I View Art on the Mart Chicago? 

The best spot to view the art projections is on the Riverwalk between Wells and Franklin Street. Since Art on the Mart utilizes light projections, it’s easily viewable after dark. Keep in mind hours will shift as seasons begin to change. 

Art on the Mart works by projecting moving images, colors, and sounds. It’s a spectacular art show you won’t want to miss.
